DVD Burners with LightScribe

Wondering where you can buy a DVD optical drive that supports HP's Lightscribe labelling technology? This page will try to keep you up-to-date.

January 6, 2005 LaCie claims they will offer DVD+/-RW dual-layer burners that support LightScribe. The projected price is $199 for Macs, $179 for Windows.

January 1, 2005 Right now the only place you can order one is direct from HP, buy buying one of these HP PCs: the HP Media Center m1200n Series Photosmart PC, HP Pavilion a800n Series Desktop PC and Compaq Presario SR1300NX Series Desktop PC.

LaCie has announced a DVD burner that supports LightScribe, but so far I know of none that have shipped. Some places are accepting orders, but be sure to check to see when they claim your order might be fulfilled.

So far, the wait to be able to purchase just a DVD burner that supports LightScribe continues.
