Toshiba Announces Slim SD-R2102 DVD Reader, CD BurnerToshiba is announcing a new slimline drive that combines
DVD-ROM reading ability with a CD burner,
all in a 12.7mm high case.
The SD-R2102 provides 8x writing for both CD-R and CD-RW discs,
and 8x DVD-ROM and 24x reading for CD-ROM discs.
Buffer underrun protection is combined with a 2MB buffer to help
produce stable, high-speed, reliable CD burning.
The slimline combo drive is targetted at laptops,
of course, where less physical stability increases the
need for stable I/O to the spinning disc.
