The drives can record 2 hours of video on a single 4.7GB DVD-R disc. As you would expect, the units are backwardly compatible with existing CD standards: CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-Audio, and Video-CD, at rates up to 24X. They burn DVD-R at 1X, DVD-RAM at 2X, and can read DVD-R at 4X speeds. See Also
