LG Electronics Touts 4X DVD Burner with DVD-RAM Support
LG Electronics has
announced the GSA-4040B
will be coming in July.
The GSA-4040B is a "Super-Multi" DVD burner,
which means it can read and write(!) DVD-RAM discs in addition
to the usual DVD±R and DVD±RW formats.
Writing speeds are expected to be 3X DVD-RAM, 2.4X DVD+RW,
and 2X DVD-RW, and the equivalent of a 24x12x32 CD-RW drive.
The GSA-4040B has a 2MB buffer.
Expected to sell for about $300, this is an E-IDE/ATAPI internal drive.
The retail kit will come with CD/DVD recording software, an MPEG-2
movie-playing application, backup software, and a sample disc.
