Disk-to-Disk Backup <$2.50/GB

As hard disk cost per gigabyte continues to plunge below the cost per gigabyte of tape, interest in disk-to-disk backup solutions is steadily growing. Dynamic Network Factory is offering a line of "virtual tape library" backup appliances. The appliances use 150MB/s Serial ATA drives, and offers RAID levels 1, 5, or 10. A software layer (FalconStor's IPStor Virtual Tape Library) makes the appliance appear to be a tape backup device, offering compatibility with various existing backup software running on Windows and Linux clients.

The new disk-to-disk backup appliances are featured on the company's website.
