Centralized
"My Documents" for Backups
In part of an ongoing series about security, Dr Nitin Paranjape provides a tip for
administrators who want to enforce centralized backups for a group of users.
The basic idea is that you implement a group policy that prevents users from
storing documents anywhere except in their
"My Documents" folder,
and then use the folder redirection facility of Windows 2003 to make each
user's
"My Documents" files reside on a centralized server.
