EMC Speeds Data Recovery with Disk

Although EMC has offered both disk-based and tape-based backup solutions, customers apparently wanted the speed of a disk-based solution without having to change any of their tape-based software or configuration. That's what EMC has now delivered in their new Clariion Disk Library.

I found it particularly interesting that the internetnews.com article on this product contained the quote that tape is now viewed as "more of an archive media than a back-up media". Thus, the drive to replace tape solutions with disk solutions continues.
