Geekzone Reviews Pocket PC Backup Utility

Geekzone New Zealand has published an M. Freitas review of CabBackup 1.2 for Pocket PC. Pocket PCs are, of course, yet another place where important data accumulates and yet often doesn't get backed up.

CabBackup is a specialized utility; it's really for when you're not going to be using a utility, but might need to get it back in a hurry. CabBackup makes it easy to turn an installed application into a compressed backup file. That way, it doesn't consume as much memory, but you can get it back right away if you need it.

The classic application of this is when you're installing an updated version of an application. You don't want to continue paying for the memory space consumed by the previous version, but you want to be able to quickly reinstall the previous version if you encounter critical problems with the new version.

You can read the entire Geekzone review on their New Zealand website.
