Drag-and-Drop Outlook Backup

The ever-popular James Coates (writing for the Chicago Tribune) demonstrates for a reader having Outlook Express 6 problems on Windows XP how to simply drag-and-drop to backup messages into a desktop folder. Sadly, the question arose because the reader could not use OE's built-in Export facility, since it kept offering the error message: "The export could not be performed. An error occurred while initializing MAPI."

I was reminded that backing up mail messages, especially in a form that one can then reasonably use them in the future, is one of the most common and irritating backup problems for Windows users.
