IBM Absorbs Data Recovery Unit
An
article on ZDNet
says that IBM will take over the Schlumberger Business Continuity unit,
which operates 40 recovery sites for 750 clients (no small potatoes).
Whether it's natural or man-made disasters,
the market for helping companies plan for disaster recovery and continuity
only seems to keep growing.
The need to comply with American and European legal requirements
is also a driving source in this arena.
