a two-day Optical Storage Symposium starting October 18,
at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.

Of note is the fact that

is mentioned as one of the symposium sponsors.
That helps keep alive hope that HP will actually someday ship the
technology,
which they first announced back in January of 2004.
