Backup for Workgroups 2.5 ShipsLockstep Systems has released Backup for Workgroups v2.5.
Backup for Workgroups is a disk-based backup and disaster recovery utility
aimed at networked workgroups of Windows servers and desktops.
The new version supports a
"open file add-ons" that let
you backup computers that run applications that can't be interrupted,
such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange Server.
The add-ons requires a Backup for Workgroups client license and
runs on either Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP.
Backup Client license prices start at $99 each.
The open file add-on license costs $199,
and handles files being held open by SQL Server, Exchange Server, and Active Directory.
If you only need open file support for
Exchange Server, you can save money by buying just
the $99 Exchange Server add-on.
Likewise, there is
a $49 Active Directory add-on,
if you only need support for that application.
