Backup Critic Storage/Media Deals PageRumor of Apple LightScribe SupportAn article at maxosXrumors.com reports the rumor that apple is seeking a DVD burner maker who can provide LightScribe support. Hewlett-Packard's LightScribe is a new technology for labelling optical discs, burning labels onto the non-data side using the same laser used to read/write data. LightScribe requires a special optical drive, specially coated media, and special software to control the burning process. If true, the Apple endorsement would be good news for the long-delayed technology that is in danger of being too little too late if it doesn't ship soon. See Also
