Backup Critic Storage/Media Deals PageHP Says Blu-ray Drives Include LightScribeIn a November 15, 2004 press release Hewlett-Packard said they plan to include Blu-ray disc drives in their future products. Blu-ray is one of multiple competing standards to store more information on optical discs. HP has long been a Blu-ray contributor and booster. Notably, the press release claims that the new drives will support LightScribe, HP's new technique for burning a label onto optical discs using the same laser used to read/write data. That would make LightScrbe support the default for future high-end HP drives, rather than an add-on option. See Also
