Backup Critic Storage/Media Deals PageCD-Writer to Sell LightScribe "Soon"The LightScribe vapor continues to try to condense, as CD-Writer.com has started putting up pages aimed at selling LightScribe media. As of today (December 17, 2004), the pages invite you to "Pre-order Now", but don't seem to actually give you any way to pre-order at all. Whether this is an indication that LightScribe media might actually ship sometime soon or just a diligent webmaster jumping the gun remains to be seen. LightScribe is Hewlett-Packard's new technology for labelling optical discs. It will require new drives, special media, and custom software for controlling the process of burning labels on to the data side of the specially-coated media. See Also
