More LightScribe CD-Rs, Still No DVDsMoser Baer India Limited is the 3rd-largest optical media
maker in the world. They've announced plans to increase production
of LightScribe-enabled CD-Rs.
Their product manager is quoted as saying they're seeing
a
"steady ramp-up" in orders.
Since so very few end users have
LightScribe
drives at this point,
it seems safe to assume this
"ramp-up" is simply
filling distribution channels, not any sort of demand driven by
actual customers yet.
Contributing to my assumption that Moser Baer's talk of
increase of orders is unrelated to consumers is the fact
that I still can't buy LightScribe DVD media anywhere.
The long, slow, and awkward roll-out of LightScribe technology continues.
