Backup Critic Storage/Media Deals PageAcronis True Image - Complete disk imaging, system disk backup, and bare-metal restore for workstations and home PCs
Notes1DVD burning support was available beginning with build 3625 for English versions, and build 3641 for German versions. Not supported (writing or reading) for Windows 9x. Third-party software required to read write-once media under Windows NT 4. DVD-R Dual-Layer media is not supported. As usual with most optical disc burning software under Windows, there is general flakiness and inter-app incompatibilities to be found here. See this thread for a sampling of problems. 2Three compression settings are available: none, normal, and maximum. 3Note that Acronis True Image can backup encrypted partitions and can password-protect access to the backups it creates, but as far as I can tell it does not actually offer an option to encrypt the backups it creates. Also, if you use Windows built-in encryption on specific files/folders, Acronis True Image offers an option to back them up in unencrypted form (upon restore, anyone will be able to read them). This latter option is not available when performing image backups, only when performing file-based backups. 4Differential backups are available even for image-based backups. 5Incremental backups are available even for image-based backups.
